Type locality: Brasil: Bahia: Oueimadas (10° 23' S, 42°30’ W)

TypesHolotype: MZUSP 10.290, female. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: “Colorido dorsal ferrugem com 7 finas linhas longitudinais ao longo do corpo. Quinta e sexta supralabiais em contato com a parietal. Nasal separada da preocular. Ventrais 229; 31 pares de subcaudais” [from RODRIGUES 1993]. 
CommentThis species may belong to the A. assimilis species group (see FERRAREZZI et al. 2005). 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Gabriel Omar Skuk Sugliano, a zoologist and biologist, whose nickname "Gabo" was used by Rodrigues. Sugliano collected the holotype and worked as Adjunct Professor at the Universidade Federal de Alagoas, Brazil.
