| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: The species which are most similar are A. serrana Lema and Renner (Figure 3) and A. striata Lema (Figure 4) differing from both, mainly by nucho-cervical collars absent in these species. Apostolepis aff. borellii is another species showing similari- ties following analysis at the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul campus Corumbá by Nelson R Albuquerque. The major difference is the shape of the supralabial blotch triangular in the latter and trapezoidal in the new species.
