DiagnosisDiagnosis: Apostolepis polylepis can be diagnosed from all other Apostolepis by having 17 dorsal rows without reduction (ENTIAUSPE-NETO et al. 2021). 
CommentSynonymy: Ferrarezzi (1993) synonymyzed Parapostolepis with Apostolepis. 
EtymologyNamed after G. poly (πολύς, πολύς, πολλή, πολύ), much, many + G. lepis (λεπίς), scale; epithelial debris. (AMARAL 1922, Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., April 2024)
