Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Arthrosaura testigensis differs from A. synaptolepis in having prefrontals; from A. reticulata , A. tyleri and A. versteegi in having four supraoculars, and from A. kockii in having the loreal separated from the supralabials, the loreal region with smooth scales, 3 pairs of genials and 8 preanal plates. |
Comment | Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. |
Etymology | Named after the type locality, Los Testigos (a.k.a. Aparamán), a mountain chain in Estado Bolívar, Venezuela. [“...For the locality, Serrania de Los Testigos, where the holotype and paratype were collected...”]. |
