Type locality: Masafi, 25°18'30"N 56°10'E, United Arab Emirates.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: The only species of Asaccus to lack enlarged dorsal tubercles. (1) Small (40 mm from snout to vent or less; (2) scales across supraorbital region fine; (3, 4, 5) dorsal tubercles absent on back, occiput, upper arm and elsewhere; (6) subtibial scales small; (7) paired terminal scansors on digits not extending markedly beyond claws; (8) phalanges in fourth toe not reduced to four; (9) cloacal tubercle minute or absent; (10) tail tip not laterally compressed or vertically expanded; (11) no enlarged tubercles on tail; (12) subcaudal series of expanded scales does not reach vent area anteriorly; (13) dorsum with a pattern of narrow dark transverse bars in preserved material; (14) tail colour sexually dimorphic, being white barred black in females and yellow in males; (15) dorsal dark bars on the tail of females extend ventrally; (16) tail not coiled and waved [ARNOLD & GARDNER 1994].
