Diagnosis | Diagnosis: (1) Large (up to 63 mm from snout to vent); (2) scales across supraorbital region fine; (3) small dorsal tubercles present on back (12 longitudinal rows at mid-body) and (4) on occiput and elsewhere, but (5) absent on upper arm; (6) subtibial scales small; (7) paired terminal scansors on digits extending well beyond claws; (8) phalanges in fourth toe not reduced to four; (9) cloacal tubercle minute or absent; (10) tail tip not laterally compressed or vertically expanded; (11) a single transverse row of enlarged dorsal tubercles at the posterior edge of each tail segment; (12) subcaudal series of expanded scales reaching vent area anteriorly; (13) dorsum with a pattern of narrow dark transverse bars; (14) tail colour sexually dimorphic, being white barred black in females and yellow in males; (15) dorsal dark bars on the tail do not extend ventrally; (16) tail coiled and waved [ARNOLD & GARDNER 1994]. |
