Synonymy: See also Aspidomorphus muelleri. “Diemenia novaeguineae” is the name of a ZMB specimen that was labelled by VOGT; apparently the name was never published (F. Tillack, pers. comm.). 
EtymologyApparently named after the light line on the neck of this species, from Latin collum = neck, and linea = line.
