tamaensis: Venezuela (Táchira); Type locality: Venezuela, Estado Táchira, Municipio Junín: Betania, Macizo de Tamá, aprox. 2,100 m [elevation], ~ 7° 24’ 21’’ N, 72° 24’ 29’’ W.

CommentSynonymy: Passos et al. 2024 synonymized Atractus mijaresi and Atractus tamaensis with Atractus pamplonensis.

Etymology: Atractus mijaresi was named after Abraham Mijares, Venezuelan herpetologist. A. tamaensis was named after its type locality.
