Comment | Synonymy: McDiarmid & DeWeese (1977) consider B. blairi as valid species, after Dixon (1973) has synonymized it with B. pallidiceps. The only clear difference seems to be a bright dorsolateral stripe in pallidiceps that is missing from blairi. |
Etymology | Named after Mr. H.S. Blair, General Manager of the Chiriqui Land Company at Armuelles “whose assistance and hospitality has been deeply appreciated by many workers, including ourselves” (Dunn 1940). |
