Type locality: Panama, Chiriqui, Puerto Armuelles  
Reproductionoviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022)

DiagnosisDiagnosis: “Close to S. pallidiceps (Cope); like it in having digits 4-3, and prefrontals separated; differing in not having a lateral light stripe.” (Dunn 1940)

CommentSynonymy: McDiarmid & DeWeese (1977) consider B. blairi as valid species, after Dixon (1973) has synonymized it with B. pallidiceps. The only clear difference seems to be a bright dorsolateral stripe in pallidiceps that is missing from blairi.
 
EtymologyNamed after Mr. H.S. Blair, General Manager of the Chiriqui Land Company at Armuelles “whose assistance and hospitality has been deeply appreciated by many workers, including ourselves” (Dunn 1940).
