| Etymology | Etymology: The specific epithet honors the non-profit New Caledonian organization Endemia (established 2001), which is dedicated to promoting knowledge of the native biodiversity of New Caledonia. In addition to being the local Red List Authority within the Species Conservation Commission of the IUCN for assessing New Caledonian flora, Endemia also organized the 2017 red listing workshop for New Caledonian lizards. |
