Type locality: near Tram Lap village (14° 20’ N, 1`08° 36’ E), 40 km NW from Kannack, Annam mountains, 900 m elevation, Ankhe District, Gia Lai Province, Vietnam.

TypesHolotype: FMNH 252295; Other specimens: ZISP (paratype) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A slender limbed species with a SVL of 106 - 122 mm, and a long tail [381 - 410 mm (312 - 386% of SVL)]. Tympanum at its smallest diameter at about or less than half diameter of orbit (ratio 0.43 - 0.51). Head covered above with small uniform keeled scales, no enlarged or compressed scales between orbit and tympanum. Eight supra and nine infralabials on each side. Nuchal crest indicated by 6 - 12 very small erect scales, dorsal crest absent. Mental wider than high, two postmentals, gular sac small in male, gular region covered with little enlarged keeled scales, smaller than ventrals. Lateral body scales small, smooth to feebly keeled, homogenous, in 47 - 54 midbody scale rows, ventrals about two times larger than dorsals, strongly keeled. Fifth toe small, smaller than fourth finger. It can be distinguished from B. smaragdina by the presence of only 2 postmentals (3) (Figs. 12 and 13), a lateral light band with dark dots in males (without dots) and a tail barred with dark bands (without bands), from other congeners by the combination of small dorsal scales, smaller fifth toe than fourth finger, no enlarged scales behind upper corner of orbit, and no enlarged supraorbital scales. The tympanum is little smaller than half diameter of orbit, but not significantly.
