CommentSynonymy: Kaiser et al. 2013 considered the generic name Swileserpens Hoser 2012 invalid and rejected its use instead of Buhoma.

EtymologyNamed after the Latin adjective depressus and Latin caput, -ceps = head, referring to the depressed head of the species.
