Diagnosis | Diagnosis. Caledoniscincus festivus can be distinguished from all other species in the genus by the following combination of colour features: tail with a row of distinctive dark chevrons; dorsal and lateral surfaces each more or less uniform, pale vertebral or lateral stripes lacking; snout with dark vertical midrostral streak.
