CommentSimilar species: C. medogensis (the two species may have been confused in North-East India), C. maria, C. jerdoni (C. jerdoni has also been misidentified as C. mystaceus, see Wang et al. 2024) 
EtymologyNamed after Thomas Claverhill Jerdon (1811-1872), British physician, zoologist, and botanist who became an Assistant Surgeon in the East India Company.
