Type locality: Cerro de Petlalcala, Municipio San Andres Tenejapan, Veracruz, Mexico (2100 m elevation), 18°47’N, 97°06’W.  
TypesHolotype: CAR-EBTT (= IBH-LT = UNAM-LT) H 3454 

Nomenclature: The correct name should be Cerrophidion petlalcalense because of the gender of Cerrophidion.
