CommentStatus unclear. Mentioned briefly by PASTEUR (1981: 13) who speculated that this might be a “semi-species” with Chalcides (chalcides) chalcides being parapatric. BOULENGER (1887: 403) lists Seps striatus GUÉRIN as synonym of Chalcides lineatus. Orsini & Cheylan 1981 call striatus a color morph. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin stria = groove, often for stripe or line.
