Diagnosis | DIAGNOSIS: It differs: from C. striatus in the larger size of females, the greater number of dorsal and ventral scales and presacral vertebrae, the dorsal pattern frequency and at 8 out of 33 loci tested (tabs. X and XII, fig. 9); from C. mertensi in the greater number of ventral scales, the dorsal pattern striatus and at 11 out of the 33 loci tested (tab. X and XI, fig. 9); from C. minutus in the larger size, the greater number of dorsal scales and presacral vertebrae, the dorsal pattern striatus, and at 8 out of 33 loci C. chalcides, see the (tabs. Etymology | From Greek “pseudo” = false, and Latin “striatus” = striped, since this species was long mistaken for C. striatus. |
