Comment | Synonymy: Chalcides simonyi was originally classified as Ch. polylepis occidentalis (LANZA 1957) or considered as a synonym of Ch. viridanus (e.g. BOULENGER 1892) but is now considered as a valid species by several authors (BROWN & PERSTANO 1998, BÖHME 2010) based on molecular data (e.g. CARRANZA et al. 2008). Subspecies: Chalcides viridanus coeruleopunctatus SALVADOR 1975 has been elevated to full species status. |
