Comment | Type species: Chamaelycus christyi BOULENGER 1919 is the type species of the genus Chamaelycus BOULENGER 1919. Phylogenetics: There seems to be no DNA data for this genus. Etymology | Named after the “Ministere des Colonies”, Dr. C. Christy, who collected the types during his expedition in the Districts of Stanleyville, Upper Uele, and Ituri in 1912-1914. The genus was named after Greek chamai (χαμαί), on the ground + Greek lykos (λύκος), wolf. [“…Voisin de Zycophidium D. et B. …”]. |
