Type locality: Hencamp Creek, 5 km north, 1 km east of Rollingstone, Qld, Australia.

TypesHolotype: QM J27702; paratypes: AMS (AM) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis. Differs from all other members of the Eulamprus tenuis complex in the following combination of characters: upper secondary temporal overlaps lower; transversely enlarged nuchal scales total 2-8, mode 4; subdigital lamellae (fourth toe) 19-23; nuchal area without dark midline streak; midbody scale rows 32-38. (Greer 1992) 
CommentLimb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014) 
EtymologyFrom the Greek sokos (strong or stout) plus soma (body), in reference to the body shape, particularly with reference to C. brachysoma, with which the species was confused. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
