Etymology | Named after its relatively small size compared to other (sub-) species in the genus. C. aridus was named after the arid environment in which this species lives. C. cloetei was named after Jos Cloete who owns the farm De Hoek, where this species was discovered. It was named after him "in appreciation of his hospitality and keen interest in nature." |
