Types | Type: Lost, according to Smith (1935), reportedly "common at Port Blair" (11º 36'N; 92º 45'E, in South Andaman Islands, Bay of Bengal, India), where the holotype may have originated. ZSI 50412 is listed as the holotype of Tiaris humei Stoliczka, 1873, from Tellingchang Island (= Tillanchong Island, 08º 30'N; 93º 37'E, Nicobar Islands, Bay of Bengal, India). Das et al. 1998 listed ZSI 5191–92 (syntypes) ZSI 5369–70 (syntypes) ZSI 5199–202 (syntypes). |

Comment | The present taxon as now understood may be a composite species from the islands of the Andamans and Nicobars, for which the names Coryphophylax maximiliani Fitzinger in: Steindachner, 1867 and Tiaris humei Stoliczka, 1873, are available [I. DAS, pers. comm.] Type species: Coryphophylax maximiliani FITZINGER 1861 is the type species of the genus Coryphophylax FITZINGER 1861 (nomen nudum) and Coryphophylax FITZINGER in STEINDACHNER 1869: 30. |
