Banda Elat and Cape Pattinson on Kai Besar)

TypesSyntypes: NMBA (= NHMB) 6203-06, ZMA.RENA 10836, ; Cotypes: MCZ R29162-63. Roux did not designate a holotype, but referred to 14 specimens from Elat, 4 specimens from Langgur, 3 specimens from Kei-Dulah, and 2 from Warka. Kramer (1979) listed NMBA 6203 as the holotype, but this is incorrect. The seven specimens listed are all from Elat. The remaining 7 Elat syntypes, and the 9 syntypes from other localities, have not yet been identified (Glenn Shea, pers. comm., Feb 2019).
Lectotype: ZMA.RENA 10972 [intermedius]
DiagnosisAdditional details, e.g. a detailed description or comparisons (4070 characters), are available for collaborators and contributors. Please contact us for details.
CommentSynonymy: Mertens (1964) considered C. intermedius a synonym of C. keiensis, simply stating that he could not separate the two “races”. Although HORNER (2007) examined only 2 specimens he supports the recognition of C. intermedius.
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
