Type locality: east coast of Padar, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: “Differs from the other races of C. boutonii in the higher number of scale rows (30-34) and in lacking any trace of light striping. The four median rows of dorsal scales are enlarged.” (DUNN 1927)

EtymologyNamed after WiIliam Douglas Burden (1898-1978), a wealthy, adventurous man and a Trustee of the American Museum of Natural History. He undertook an expedition to Komodo (1927) with E. R. Dunn.
