Diagnosis	Diagnosis: A very large (>50 mm SVL), long-legged, shallow-headed, saxicoline, littoral Cryptoblepharus, distinguished from Australian congeners by combination of modal values of ﬁve supraciliary scales, 26 mid-body scale rows, 51–57 paravertebral scales, 20–22 fourth toe subdigital lamellae, 9–11 palmar scales; 11–16 plantar scales; mean values of 39.0–41.0 mm snout-vent length, smooth to narrowly callused subdigital lamellae; rounded, dark pigmented plantar scales, and lack of postnasal scales. Comment	Habitat: A saxicoline, coastal taxon, which frequents beach rocks, rocky headlands and breakwaters. Usually abundant in suitable habitat. Sympatry. Cryptoblepharus l. horneri is sympatric with C. metallicus on the Wessel islands, and with C. gurrmul and C. cygnatus on New Year Island. Cryptoblepharus l. litoralis occurs in sympatry with C. metallicus and C. pannosus, C. pulcher and C. virgatus.
Etymology	Named after the Latin noun litus, litoris, meaning "shore", referring to the habitat of the species.
