Distribution	Australia (Prince of Wales Island, Torres Strait) Type locality: "Prince of Wales Island, Torres Strait, Queensland," Australia.
Reproduction	ovovivparous
Types	Holotype: unlocated fide SHEA & Sadlier 1999: 66, but said to be in AMS.
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: A small species of Acanthophiid snake, readily separated from all other Australian species in this family by its totally pink colouration. Cameron, et.a!. (1978: 194) provides an excellent diagnostic illustration of this species. (Wells & Wellington 1985).
Comment	Not listed by WELCH 1994. Venomous!
Etymology	Apparently named after its unusual coloration. No etymology is provided by Wells & Wellington 1985.
