Reproductionoviparous. Exhibits temperature‐dependent sex determination (TSD) fide Cornejo-Páramo et al. 2020 (and references therein).

Holotype: ZMB 30100, from Australia [tibialis] 
CommentSynonymy that of Cogger 1983. According to DENZER et al. 1997, Amphibolurus tibialis AHL 1926 is a synonym of Ctenophorus reticulatus.

EtymologyThe Latin ornata, -us, = decorated" or "ornamented," refers to the ornate coloration.
