Type locality: approx. 4.8 km (3 miles) west of Roatán on the path to Flowers Bay, Isla de Roatán, Departamento de las Islas de la Bahía, Honduras.”  
TypesHolotype: UF 28532 (University of Florida), adult female, collected on Aug 19, 1969, by D.E. Hahn. 
CommentConsidered as Ctenosaura bakeri by BARBOUR 1928 or Enyaliosaurus bakeri by COCHRAN 1961. 
EtymologyThe specific name oedirhi- na is formed from the Greek oedos (or oidos; a swelling) and rhinos (nose), and refers ‘‘to the profile of the [swollen] snout compared with those of other Ctenosaura’’ (de Queiroz, 1987: 892).
