CommentSynonymy: Lygosoma (Hinulia) taeniolatum maculata is a junior primary homonym (non Lygosoma maculatum BLYTH 1853) and therefore not available.

Hybridization: Rabosky et al. (2009) provide evidence that Ctenotus leonhardii and C. quattuordecimlineatus hybridize.

Limb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014) 
EtymologyNamed after Moritz Freiherr von Leonhardi (1856-1910), a German anthropologist and collector of the types.
