Etymology | Named after William Edward Schevill (1906-1994), a cetologist and biologist who was the Librarian of the Museum of Comparative Zoology and Assistant Curator of Invertebrate Paleontology at Harvard (1938). Schevill was the collector of the species, and was a member of the expedition which collected the material in the paper by Loveridge. At that time, he was a graduate student. |
