Distribution	Central Bahama Islands, including San Salvador, the Exuma Cays, islands of the Crooked-Acklins group. rileyi: San Salvador I. and satellites. Type locality: San Salvador Island, Bahama Islands. cristata: southern Exuma Cays. Type locality: "White Cay [Exuma Islands], Bahama Islands". nuchalis: cays in Bight of Acklins.

Etymology	Named after Joseph Harvey Riley (1873-1941), a biologist and ornithologist at the Smithsonian (1896-1941) who became Associate Curator of Birds (1932).
