Type locality: Java

DiagnosisUnfortunately we had to temporarily remove additional information as this was scraped by multiple AI companies who sell that data to their customers. These details, e.g. detailed descriptions or comparisons (about 1781 characters), are available for collaborators and contributors. Please contact us for details.
CommentDistribution: DRING (1979) states that records from Tailand (Narathiwat Province and Bukit Besar) are in fact C. quadrivirgatus. Not on Sulawesi fide Riyanto et al. 2016: 59. Not in Sumatra, Malaysia, nor Papua New Guinea (West Papua) fide Iskandar & McGuire 2018 (IUCN assessment). For a map of localities on Java see Riyanto et al. 2025: 83 (Fig. 1)

Synonymy: Gray 1831 did not use the name Cyrtodactylus marmoratus as stated in some synonymies but “Marbled Cyrtodactyle. Marmoratus Gonyodactylus, Kuhl. MSS.”, the latter indicating a manuscript by Kuhl. RÖSLER et al. 2007 revalidated Cyrtodactylus agamensis but their diagnosis of this species is fairly vague.
EtymologyNamed after Latin marmorata, marbled.
