Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Gymnodactylus arfakensis SAUVAGE 1879 is an unjustified emendation of Gymnodactylus (Heteronota) arfakianus MEYER 187. DAAN & HILLENIUS 1966 listed Gymnodactylus sermowaiensis as valid species. 
EtymologyNamed after its distribution in Papua New Guinea.
