Distribution | Sri Lanka
Type locality: Henarathgoda (07°04’N & 80°01’E) and Anuradhapura (08°21’N & 80°23’E) [close to Gampaha Town].
|
Reproduction | Oviparous |
Types | Syntypes: lost, originally NMSL (2 specimens). Wickramasinge et al. (2011) suggested that specimen R.S.K. II, a specimen lacking any data, was one of the syntypes. Das et al. (1998) state that ZSI 15977, from Ceylon, is one of the two syntypes, but provide no evidence for this. Wickramasinghe et al., 2011) identify BMNH 1908.3.19.3 (Ceylon, presented Professor G. Kerr) as a syntype, purely on the basis of similarity with the adult specimen described by Nevill (1887), and designated that specimen as lectotype, but this was rejected by CHANDRAMOULI & AMARASINGHE 2015 who argue that there was no evidence of the syntype status of this specimen. |

Comment | Distribution: Reports from India are in error (A. Bauer, pers. comm. 30 Aug 2011, and Mendis Wickramasinghe et al. 2011), and actually represent D. subcaeruleum. No specimens were found in the first type locality by Mendis et al. 2011.
The author is sometimes cited as HALY & NEVILL, but it’s only NEVILL. See CHANDRAMOULI & AMARASINGHE 2015 for details.
Habitat: primarily arboreal. |
