Diagnosis 
CommentArboreal.

Type species: Apterygodon vittatum EDELING 1865 is the type species of the genus Apterygodon EDELING 1865.

EtymologyNamed after Latin “vittatus” for ribbon, or decorated by a ribbon, referring to the stripes on the head and neck of the species.
