DiagnosisDiagnosis: A moderately small, stout species of Delma (SVL up to 90mm) with modally 16 midbody scales, two pairs of supranasals and distinctive dark dorsal head markings present throughout life (any ontogenetic fading is restricted to markings forward of the eyes). 
Comment 
Etymologynamed after Greek “desmos” = chain or band, in reference to the distinctive dorsal head bands of this species.
