Type locality: Paluma turnoff on Bruce Hway, north of Townsville, Qld. (18° 59’ S, 146° 18’ E).

DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS: D. labialis differs from all other Delma species in having a lip and lateral neck pattern of alternating mid-brown and cream bars, and a dark brown stripe on the third scale row on caudal body and tail, separating dorsal from lateral surface. (Shea 1987)

EtymologyThe specific epithet is from the Latin labium, a lip, in allusion to the distinctive labial and lateral neck pattern of this species.
