Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A moderately small, stout species of Delma (SVL up to 98mm) with modally 16 midbody scales, two pairs of supranasals, and a plain adult colouration due to pronounced ontogenetic fading of dorsal head markings (markings prominent in juveniles) [from MARYAN et al. 2007].

Etymology | Named after the Latin word for peace. Kluge doesn’t give any further explanation for the choice of this name. Maybe the name was chosen because the species lives in apparent harmony and sympatry (in different locations) with 6 other pygopods, namely D. borea, D. elegans, D. nasuta, D. tincta, Lialis burtonis, and P. nigriceps. |
