Diagnosis | DIAGNOSIs: A Dendrophidion with 15-15 dorsals; keels on all dorsals except lower three rows; 142 ventrals; markings a double row of dots on each side of middorsal line. Comment | Very rare species, known from only ~7 specimen Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). Abundance: Rare. This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. |
Etymology | Named after Dr. Jorge Boshell-Manrique, a physician and epidemiologist who became Director of the Instituto Samper Martinez. He was Director of the School of Hygiene, Bogota, Colombia (1950S) and a keen amateur zoologist. |
