Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Draco beccarii can be distinguished from all other members of the D. lineatus group by the following combination of characteristics: (1) dorsal patagial coloration of males with one to three black distal blotches on an orange or yellow field, (2) male dewlap elongated and triangular, terminating in a point, (3) dewlap of males bright yellow or orange in coloration, (4) presence of a melanic interorbital spot in males, (5) presence of a melanic nuchal spot in males and females, (6) variable presence of a melanic postnuchal spot in males and females, (7) absence of white pigments in association with the variably present nuchal and postnuchal spots, (8) variable presence of melanic ‘eye spots’ (dark spots with associated white or pale pigments) on the supraorbital semicircles, (9) presence of a parietal lens, and (10) tympana at least partially covered with scales (usually completely covered) (McGuire et al. 2007).
