Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A subspecies reaching a snout-vent length of 89 m m; gular pouch without enlarged scales; dorsals 97-139, unequal, keeled; thornlike scale on supraciliary edge smaller than 0.035 times the head length; nuchal crest in males consisting of 13-22 scales; lateral parts of head and nuchal region in males usually light with dark spots, forming a more or less distinct, reticulated pattern, females without such markings; patagium dark brown, never clear blue (as volans boschmai, Musters 1983: 84). Comment | Phylogenomics: Reilly et al. 2021 found that D. boschmai is paraphyletic with D. timoriensis. However, these authors did not make any taxonomic recommendations for splitting up the complex or changing the status of any of its species. |
Etymology | Named after Prof. Boschma (Leiden) who facilitated the printing of Hennig’s paper. |
