Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Draco caerulhians can be distinguished from all other members of the D. lineatus group by the following combination of characteristics: (1) the dorsal patagial coloration of males blotched with gray over its proximal one-third, black over its distal two-thirds, (2) male dewlap short and rounded distally, (3) dewlap in males yellow or greenish-yellow in coloration, (4) presence of a melanic interorbital spot in males, (5) presence of a large rhomboidal melanic nuchal spot in both sexes, (6) variable presence of a large melanic rhomboidal postnuchal spot in both sexes, (7) nuchal and postnuchal spots surrounded by white pigments in males, (8) presence of melanic ‘eye spots’ (dark spots with associated white or pale pigments) on the supraorbital semicircles of both sexes, (9) absence of a parietal lens, and (10) tympana always unscaled (from MCGUIRE et al. 2007). |
