Type locality: “Nyassaland” = Shire Highlands, Malawi.

CommentSubspecies: Duberria shirana (Boulenger, 1894) may be a subspecies of D. lutrix or a valid species.

Distribution: probably not in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi) although it may occur in S Tanzania fide S. Spawls, pers. comm., 28 June 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
