Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A very large Egernia with keeled dorsal scales, fragile tail, strong postnarial groove, and dorsal and lateral coloration dark grey or black with or without small whitish spots or short streaks. Further distinguishable from members of Egernia striolata group by dark upper lip and absence of broad longi- tudinal stripes, especially dark upper lateral-temporal-Ioreal band and pale laterodorsal band (Storr 1978: 160).
