| Diagnosis | Diagnosis (n=1): Eine Eirenis, nächstverwandt mit E. collaris MENETRIES 1832, aber mit völlig anderer Zeichnung und Färbung, mit gedrungenerem und größerem Körperbau, mit breiterem Kopf, niedrigerem Rostrale und mit das erste Supralabiale berührendem Loreale. Das Zeichnungsmuster von E. rechingeri erinnert in hohem Maße an jenes von E. decemlineata (DUMERIL, BIBRON & DUMERIL) 1854, von der sie jedoch durch ihren kleineren, dabei aber gedrungeneren Körperbau mit breiterem und kürzerem Kopf, mit niedrigerem Rostrale, breiterem Frontale, kleineren Augen, kürzeren hinteren Genialia, durch die größere Zahl ihrer Gularia und ganz besonders durch den Besitz von nur 15 Schuppenreihen um die Körpermitte sowie durch die geringeren Zahlen der Ventralia und Subcaudalia leicht zu unterscheiden ist. | Comment | The subgeneric allocation of this species remains unclear because NAGY et al. (2004) did not have any DNA available for analysis, but they speculate that it probably belongs to Pediophis. |
