Type locality: “Soa Konorra und Tabello, Nord-Halmaheira, in Höhen bis zu 2500’, Oba, West-Halmaheira, und Patani, Ost-Halmaheira”.

EtymologyNamed after Professor Dr. Wilhelm "Willy" Georg Kükenthal (1861-1922) who worked for the Bremen Geographical Society. He traveled widely, including to both the arctic and East Indies.
