CommentSubspecies: Emoia mivarti obscurum (DE JONG 1927) has been elevated to full species status.

Habitat: ground, foraging on the leaf litter, especially around pald fronds and other debrism in areas of partial canopy cover (HEATWOLE 1975). 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. St. George Jackson Mivart (1827-1900), best known as a naturalist but was also known for defending his Catholic faith from "scientific attacks."
