Type locality: Kordo, Mysore Island, Dutch New Guinea.  
TypesHolotype: lost or destroyed during World War II, fide Obst 1977, Brown 1991. Originally MTKD Realkatalog 307, collected A.B. Meyer, 1873.
Syntypes: MSNG 28063 [beccari] 
CommentE. kordoana was placed in the synonymy of E. cyanura by Boulenger (1887, p. 290). The name was later revived by Sternfeld (1918, p. 411) but was assigned to the species later recognized as E. callistica Peters and Doria.
