Type locality: “Siam” [Thailand]  
Reproductionovovivparous 
TypesHolotype: ZMA.RENA 4746 (fide MURPHY & VORIS 2014, in error). 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Dorsal scale rows 23–25 on neck, large scalloped blotches or spots on sides and dorsum, ventral scales 117–127; females have more than 50 subcaudals, males have about 68, pupil mottled and colored like scales surrounding it. Eye diameter less than diameter of nasal scale (MURPHY & VORIS 2014). 
CommentSynonymy: Hypsirhina enhydris subtaeniata BOURRET 1934 has been removed from the synonymy of E. jagorii. 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. F. Jagor who collected reptiles in Thailand for te Zoological Museum in Berlin.
